Performance realizada junto a Blanca Viñas
SINOPSIS / SYNOPSIS:
Esperando un eclipse es un filme sin cámara hecho de abstracciones pictóricas aplicadas sobre celuloide transparente. Esta pieza forma parte de una performance fílmica junto a proyecciones de diapositivas y sonidos amplificados de los proyectores.
El diccionario nos dice que un eclipse es la ocultación total o parcial de la luz de un astro por la interposición de otro entre aquél y el observador. Esperando un eclipse es un proyecto audiovisual que propone ampliar la mirada para evocar aquello cósmico. Una doble proyección de 180 diapositivas abstractas quedan dispuestas frontalmente para sugerir la representación de escenarios galácticos. Atravesando la materia pictórica translúcida –de la que están hechas todas las imágenes– es como la luz consigue yuxtaponer múltiples mancha de colores que proponen visualizaciones orgánicas de naturaleza astronómica. A nivel acústico la pieza emite el sonido de los dos aparatos tecnológicos mediante el uso de dos micrófonos de contacto que recogen las vibraciones del mecanismo, amplificando su señal analógica. Esta obra realizada por la fotógrafa Blanca Viñas y el cineasta Albert Alcoz forma parte del proyecto artístico La noche inventada, un work in progress que sirve como pretexto para investigar las posibilidades de los medios fotoquímicos desde las imágenes fijas y en movimiento.
"Waiting for an eclipse" is a cameraless film done with abstract paintings created on the surface of transparent celluloid. This piece is part of a film performance with slide projections and amplified sounds of the projectors.
The dictionary tells us that an eclipse is the total or partial concealment of the light of one star by the interposition of another between that and the observer. "Waiting for an eclipse" is an audiovisual project that proposes to expand the look to evoke the cosmic. A double projection of 180 abstract slides are arranged frontally to suggest the representation of galactic scenarios. Traversing the translucent pictorial matter –from which all the images are made– is how light manages to juxtapose multiple stains of colors that propose organic visualizations of an astronomical nature. At an acoustic level, the piece emits the sound of the technological devices through the use of two contact microphones that collect the vibrations of the mechanism, amplifying its analog signal. This work by photographer Blanca Viñas and filmmaker Albert Alcoz is part of the artistic project "The Invented Night", a work in progress, a pretext to investigate the possibilities of photochemical media from still and moving images.
